Guided chocolate tasting events
Have you ever wanted to know how to taste chocolate and find the words to express your experience? Are you interested in sampling several different chocolates to compare different characteristics of fine flavor beans? Do you just want to be in the company of chocolate-loving fanatics?
Then this event is for you! Or events, as we will offer Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced tastings at our Chocolate House.
Queer Chocolatier owners Morgan Roddy and Cheri Ellefson will guide you through the tastings with several samples of chocolates. We will walk through a process of identifying different flavors, tastes, textures while providing you with the vocabulary to help enhance your experience.
Introductory: A Vertical Tasting—sampling chocolates with differing levels of cacao content made by Chocolates El Rey, the source chocolate used in our truffles.
Intermediate: A Horizontal Tasting—sampling chocolates with 70% cacao content but made with beans grown in different regions of the world.
Advanced: Hands-on—Ever want to see the whole process of making chocolate? You’ll get to see each step in making micro-batch chocolate and taste the chocolate along the way.
This event is not for the pretentious; we want to make chocolate-tasting accessible, intentional, educational, and most of all, enjoyable!
