Our Classic Truffles consist of a flavor-infused ganache made with dairy, specifically heavy cream and butter, to provide a luxurious mouthfeel and overall texture. These hand-rolled truffles are then finished with a light dusting of cocoa powder unless otherwise stated, such as our Pistachio Rose Water or our Champagne with Popping Candy.
February: Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar Truffles
Tart, bright, sweet, romantic.
Not only does this absolutely describe me (just ask my wife, actually never mind), but February's Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar Truffles are this and more! The raspberries are naturally sweet and pair smoothly with the acidic tartness of high-quality balsamic vinegar to create a truffle worth craving! No added sugar needed here!
Step aside, chocolate-covered cherries. It's time for Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar Truffles to take the romantic spotlight for Valentine's Day!
Wedding Anniversary Truffle: Pistachio Rose Water
Two years ago, I got married to a woman that has made my life ridiculously adventurous ever since. Cheri inspires me in a way that no one else has ever done.
Simply put, Queer Chocolatier would not exist without Cheri.
In honor of my wife, I made a Wedding Anniversary Truffle to share with her today and to others who are able to visit our shop.
Pistachio Rose Water Truffles.
The ingredients: pistachio, rose water, and chocolate. How beautiful and elegant and adventurous! Just like our marriage. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Love you, Cheri!
Pure, unadulterated chocolate bliss!
Eleven years ago I made my first Bittersweet Truffles using only chocolate, cream, butter and cocoa powder. It was the onset of an obsession that finally has culminated into my dream.
Bittersweet chocolate truffles made with Mijao dark chocolate are a simple yet sophisticated treat for yourself and someone you unapologetically love.
Why the Ball jar? Cheri and I met at Ball State University for graduate school!
Bourbon Pecan Truffles
One of my favorites, Bourbon Pecan Truffles provide layers of depth with oakey bourbon mingling with Mijao dark chocolate and the nutty sweetness of Texan pecans. Woodford Reserve bourbon is infused with vanilla pods for 8-weeks and then mixed with a fresh pecan cream to make a delightful boozy, nutty "cream" that melts into the chocolate. Chopped roasted pecans coat the outside of these gorgeous delights to create the perfectly-balanced truffle experience.
Brace yourself. When I say there's bourbon in there, believe me, it's in there.
Burnt Caramel w/ sea salt
Deep, rich, smooth caramel infuses the creamy ganache of the Burnt Caramel w/Sea Salt Truffle. Tiny pops of sea salt leap onto your tongue as you are washed away with wave after wave of caramel and Mijao dark chocolate stay with you. Prepared to be pulled into the dark undertow of the sea.
Consistently listed as a fan favorite during multiple rounds of taste testing! Order to find out why!
dirty chai truffles
Experience an explosion of flavors as Mijao dark chocolate is elevated with a spice blend of cinnamon, clove, turmeric, cardamom, black peppercorn and ginger, plus organic Bangladeshi black tea and a boost of espresso for a lift!
I've always endorsed the idea that chocolate is a breakfast food. Dirty Chai Truffles are genuinely made with that idea in mind!
lavender menace truffles
A twist from the ordinary, these deliciously floral truffles will expand your senses as you simultaneously experience the taste and smell with each bite. Lavender Menace Truffles are Mijao dark chocolate imbued with the floral aromas of lavender and vanilla. Trust me when I say they will transport you to the vast lavender fields of France or, in fact, Hill Country Texas, which is where I source my culinary lavender!
Lavender Menace Truffles are in honor of the many queer women who came before me to fight for our inclusion and voice in the feminist movement during the 70s! If your feminism ain't intersectional, it ain't feminism. #hereandqueer
vanilla porter truffles
Pour yourself a pint of truffles! My Vanilla Porter Truffles will have you feeling like you are kicking back in a handsome pub, without a care in the world, and all without a hangover should you overindulge. And overindulge you should!
These truffles are perfect for someone who doesn't have a strong sweet tooth but wants to satisfy a chocolate, boozy craving.
